Mad for Magnolias

Growing up in Illinois, I thought that Magnolia trees were only in the South. So imagine my surprise while driving home the other day when I saw this beautiful blooming Magnolia Tree. Psalm 9:1 "I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. " This magnolia blossom shows just one of the beautiful creations God has created and I just had to thank Him for allowing me to see this wonder the other day.

Take a picture....it lasts longer

Remember when you were a child and you were looking at someone, if you were caught staring the response was typically "Take a picture, it lasts longer". Well, I find myself doing that these days. While walking into work yesterday, I saw that the trees had started to bloom amd God's creation had yet again started to show it's beautiful colors....so I took a picture-the image lasts longer :D

A new bud-ginning

This is a favorite picture of mine I took last year. I guess it speaks to me at this time of year of new beginnings and signs that the vibrant colors of Spring will soon be here.

Is Spring in the air?

It seems like the weather has turned the corner here in Chicago and I searched today for signs that Spring was indeed around the corner. I spotted a child's well loved and used baseball sitting on the grass and the song "Take me out to the ballgame" came to mind. So play ball and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

Garden Chapel

I took this picture today at church. It's of our Garden Chapel. I love sitting in there are worshipping. It can be calming place for me to sit and meditate; I also love it in the spring and summer when the sun comes shining through. It's as if God's light is beaming down on me as I celebrate him

What a friend

This post is dedicated to my dear friend Vickie who ended her struggle with breast cancer last month. She was an amazing Childrens Minsistry director at my church and a dear friend. She is probably the only person I know who would and could bring wolves to church for VBS and fit God in the lesson. Vickie is the one holding the pup wolf here. She made Sunday School exciting for both the children and those who taught the lessons. While she is not here in the physical sense I still see her often when the sun is shining down upon me and thinking how much brighter the sun looks now that I know she is in Heaven and looking down upon me.

Nature is the art of God

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said "Nature is the art of God". I supposed that's why I like pictures of nature so much. I don't need to go to the art museum to see a Van Gogh or Picasso as beautiful as they are. All I need to do is go outside and walk through a forest, field or look up in the sky and see the most beautiful of artwork ever created. I took this picture at the Morton Arboretum this past weekend. It was a cold day and God's artwork was all around me.
